WEST MIDLAND WOODTURNERS.

Malcolm Caine shares his memories of Kings Bromley Horticultural Show 1999 to 2004.

A former member of WMWT, Brian Chamberlain, lived in Kings Bromley and his wife was a member of the show organizing committee. They invited the club to take a stall in the craft tent at the show to sell members work. I undertook the job of organizing this and so it continued for six years. There were several woodworking competitions each year which members entered. There was a trophy called, I think, the Hallam Shield which was awarded in the woodwork classes to the entrant with the most points, Peter Hockley won it one year and Malcolm Caine the next. Brian Bateman came along in 2002 to help us. I continued to run the stall until the members voted at the 2005 AGM to end our involvement with the show.

Footnote
The trophy could have been called the Halso Trophy
